With six members, including three lead vocalists, making a Rah Rah record could easily turn into a case of too many cooks.Still, when it came to creating their last album, The Poet’s Dead, the Regina band brought two more chefs into its kitchen — Gus Van Go and Werner F — the production duo behind such gourmet rock recordings as The Stills’ Oceans Will Rise and Priestess’ Hello Master.And it was the right direction. Released in 2012 by Hidden Pony Records, The Poet’s Dead won Independent Album of the Year at the 2013 Western Canadian Music Awards, made the 2013 Polaris Music Prize long list, and received a nomination for Alternative Album of the Year at the 2014 Juno Awards.
