Wisconsin’s punk history is as deep and rich as is it fast and loud. It is also a history full of amazing releases that are now out of print and just one spring cleaning or rummage sale away from being time capsules, lost forever, with only the dusty memories of those that were there to witness the madness. Enter MKEPunk.com a website dedicated to preserving Wisconsin’s out-of-print releases.

MKEPunk.com is the home to Wisconsin’s punk (and punk-related) music history. Starting on Tuesday, January 27th at 8 a.m., MKEPunk.com’s Jeremy Ampe and Marty Defatte will be bringing their archive to the airwaves on WMSE’s The Shape of Rock. We call the monthly, hour-long segment, the “MKEPunk Radio Hour”.

Once a month, the “MKEPunk Radio Hour” will dive into MKEPunk.com’s library, exploring Milwaukee and Wisconsin’s musical history. We will attempt to frame each show by focusing on individual categories within the library: different genres, eras, cities and other lenses we have yet to imagine. Tune in to hear what we dig up.
