Tonight On Local/Live: Salt Creek

“Bad Ass Bluegrass Truck Drivin’ Music” is how Salt Creek describes itself. The local quartet has a definite Bluegrass sound and appeal, but naturally adds different genres from each band members’ experiences and musical roots in every type of outfit from jazz to rock.

Founded in the early 00′s, Salt Creek’s members: Colin O’Brien [fiddle, guitars, vocals], Guy Fiorentini [bass, vocals], Jim Eannelli [guitars, vocals] and Erik Radloff [percussion] have a mission “to have fun, first”, which is probably why they’re still kicking around and playing music to this day. Their air of positivity is obvious throughout the lively music they play, filled with lilting vocals and undeniably plucky banjo solos. A little bit of old-timey feel is evident, but Salt Creek is definitely part of the modern Bluegrass movement.

Catch some live music from Salt Creek on tonight’s Local/Live performance, airing at 8 p.m. on 91.7 FM, WMSE. Tune in on your FM dial, or stream online at WMSE.org. Salt Creek will also be playing at Stonefly Brewery this Saturday, December 12th at 10 p.m.
