Friday, Sept. 15–Sunday, Sept. 24: Nine days of cool things celebrating everything WMSE.

WMSE’s members, volunteers, and community partners make the great programming you love possible. Thank you to our community that powers this little radio station to have an amazing impact on Milwaukee’s cultural landscape. Since 1981, WMSE has been free-form and independent. We are so very grateful for the last 42 years, so let’s celebrate!

Friday, Sept. 15 – 6:30 p.m. at Times Cinema, The Friday Night Freak Show – ‘Mystery Men’ – with DJ Fun Dad

Saturday, Sept. 16 – Visit the WMSE Stage at the Bay View Bash with Olivia Jean and catch the Saturday Afternoon Boogie Bang live remote at the Bay View Bash – 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Can we talk for a second about Olivia Jean? Her mysterious, shadowy, and sexy songs are both gritty and glamorous. With the heart of 90s pop and an undercurrent of grungy surf, Olivia Jean’s artistry is going to set the WMSE stage on fire just before she leaves for a national tour with The Hives.

Monday, Sept. 18Community Partner Appreciation Day – WMSE has been your trusted source for community-powered radio for more than 40 rowdy years. None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of our fantastic community partners, many of which are small local businesses who believe in WMSE and our mission.

Your organization can sponsor WMSE’s programming and events too! WMSE Account Executive Mitch is offering an extremely limited introductory sponsorship package of $917 (includes both on-air messaging and a newsletter ad). Contact Mitch at desantis@msoe.edu or at 414-277-6942 for information on getting your organization’s message to the best listeners in the world.

Tuesday, Sept. 19Volunteer Appreciation Day and Local/Live with Hayward Williams – Today is one of the most important days of WMSE Celebration Week. It’s the day to show love for the volunteers – including our DJs – who make this station the most rad. We want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. WMSE would be nothing without your unwavering support and commitment. Thank you to the over 240 volunteers that make WMSE’s programming and events run smoothly all yearlong. We are so appreciative of their amazing contributions to The Sound Downtown, WMSE.

Wednesday, Sept. 20Sound Citizen Sustaining Member Appreciation Day – We would like to acknowledge the generous contribution of WMSE’s Sound Citizens. They support WMSE’s amazing free-form programming with small manageable gifts from a bank account or credit card. They reduce the on-air membership drives goals and length. Thank you, Sound Citizens, we salute you! Go to WMSE.org and click DONATE.

Thursday, Sept. 21World Gratitude Day – “WMSE Members only show” at Promises with Radio Radio (This event is exclusive to our valued members and has limited capacity. Only WMSE members will be admitted on a first come, first serve basis.) – Thank you to WMSE’s members! In the last fiscal year, members give about two-thirds of WMSE’s operating budget and are vital to WMSE’s survival.
