Rockabilly Chili Fundraiser is a chili competition that pit over 50 Milwaukee restaurants, cafes and caterers against one another to determine the city’s best chili as voted on by event attendees. Awards are given to winners in five different categories: best meat, best vegetarian, most unique chili, best heat, and best vendor display/presentation.
The 16th Annual WMSE Rockabilly Chili Fundraiser Winners:
Best Meat: Kettle Range Meat Company (Runner-up: The Wicked Hop, Puddler’s Hall)
Best Veggie: Beans & Barley (Runner-up: Hi Hat Garage, Riverwest Co-Op)
Most Unique: DanDan (Runner-up: Hue, The Soup House)
Best Display: Brewed Cafe (Runner-up: Vanguard, McBob’s Pub & Grill)
Best Heat: Lakefront Brewery (Runner-up: Cafe Corazon, Good Harvest)
Milwaukee Fire Department: Station 8
Once again there were chili pepper races in the mold of Miller Park sausage races, AWE’s children’s area and music.
Advance tickets are $12 and include 4 chili samples. Additional Chili sampling tickets can be purchased at the event for $1 each. Bring two or more non-perishable food items and donated them to the Hunger Task Force and you’ll receive two additional sample tickets.

CHILI PEPPER RACES
The races will take place on the second level field house track at Noon and 2pm, with the final heat closing out the event at 4pm.
Since 2013 Artists Working in Education (AWE) has provided children’s arts and crafts, where their warm family-friendly artists, staff and volunteers will be heating things up with art-making activities for rockabilly boys and girls of all ages.

Tickets are also available at the WMSE studios at 820 N. Milwaukee Street M-F, 9am-6pm. Children 10 and under enter free.
Paid parking is available across the street from Kern Center in the 780-car parking complex below Viets Field.
