Six noisy bands headed for the Caterwaul Music Festival in Minneapolis May 24-27 converge on Milwaukee, WI, for a festival of their own on Friday May 24th at Club Garibaldi, 2501 S Superior St. 7pm. Call it a mini-Caterwaul or Caterwaul MKE, this explosive road bash will be loud, heavy and hitting all your weird rock spots.  The lineup is insane:

ART GRAY NOIZZ QUINTET – NY City noise rockers led by former Lubricated Goat front man Stu (Art Gray) Spasm w/ drummer Bloody Richard Hutchins (ex-Live Skull), bassist Skeleton Boy (ex-Woman) and Grace Bergere (guitar) and Nikki D’Agostino (sax). Art Gray Noizz formed for the premiere of the Amphetamine Reptile documentary The Color of Noise and never looked back. Since then they’ve played shows with Mudhoney and The Scientists, toured with Lydia Lunch and released a searing s/t debut album in 2022.

PART CHIMP (London, UK): After two decades of ear-splitting noise rock in the UK, the “primal paragons of the riff” are finally coming to Milwaukee to shake some speakers. Their 2021 album Drool, their sixth, is fearsome, heavy and laden with gigantic zombie pysch-noise romps. They ARE the riff-masters!

COUGARS (Chicago): Purveyors of “energetic sleaze” and all things good and abrasive and economical about the unmistakable “Chicago Sound”. Their long-awaited 3rd album COUGS was released last summer and recorded (in part) in Milwaukee at Howl Street Studio!!

BRONSON ARM: “It’s dark, ominous and in your face …stripped down and spiky, like your favorite post-hardcore band merged with quality noise rock.” – New Noise Mag. Bronson Arm are a duo from Kalamazoo, MI, their new S/T debut album (released Jan. 12, 2024) is killer and so are they.

ISOLATION TANK ENSEMBLE (Louisville, KY): They got hit with the “trash prog” label, liked it and it stuck. But don’t let ’em fool you. This is the real King Crimson devil’s interval experience with full band, violin and keys. Their sound is massive. Latest album Heliography released in May of 2023.

PRIMITIVE BROADCAST SERVICE (MKE): Correspondents from the dissonant sprawl of uncomfortable times, their 2021 album was hailed “a noise rock classic” (NTnoise). Angular, feedback-driven and prone to skronk, they’re back – and they’re your hosts!

Start/doors open: 7pm 21+ only. Tickets: $20 – $25 dos, early bird ticket pricing starts at $16 + fee.
